Rihanna has hit back at critics protesting her hard-hitting video for "Man down" where the singer guns down a rapist, insists she simply shows fans what may happen in "reality."
"Umbrella" singer, who was brutally beaten in 2009 through its-boyfriend Chris Brown, shoots a man in a railway station in the promo. A series of flashback images show since her twin with cock outside a nightclub as he tries to attack her.
The clip premiered on TV earlier in the week and Rihanna immediately came under attack by activists at parents Television Council for depicting graphic murder. They accused her of a "cold, calculated execution of murder" is an acceptable form of justice.
But Rihanna has blasted negative feedback, insists it is not her job to show children what is right and wrong-she uses only his art to express your own feelings on the subject.
In a number of posts on his blog, Twitter.com, she writes: "I am a 23-year-old rockstar with some KIDS! What happened to all those wantin (sic) me to be a parent? I'm just a girl, I can only be your/our voice!
"Cuz (sic), we all know how difficult/awkward it is to communicate sensitive subject matters, someone in particular our parents! And that's why!Cuz (sic) we turn the other cheek! U (sic) can not hide your children from society, or they learn never to adapt!This is the real world!
"The music industry is not exactly parents r us! We have the freedom to make art, let us! Its (sic) your job to ensure that they do not (sic) prove to will. "
And Rihanna have called on their faithful fans not to take out their anger on PTC activists.
She adds, "Guys please stop making threats # NotCool!!! We love it, they do not ... There is everything, and the world keeps turning! "
